You wouldn’t think that at a time like this–when I’m hard-pressed to come up with content every day–I would need to write a supplemental email, but a new event has arisen.
There will be a special meeting of the Downtown Development Authority this evening at 5:30. They will discuss a proposal by the Chair (Brandon Narva–Goozell Yogurt), to offer rental assistance to downtown businesses affected by the state shut-down. The proposal is to reallocate $225,000 from the $700,000 capital programs budget. Businesses could request half of their April rent or $2,000, whichever is larger. See the meeting packet for more information.
According to the meeting memo, we should be able to watch the meeting live: “The DDA plans to live broadcast this special meeting on GCO.TV and Comcast channel 880. If possible, we will also stream online on the City website.“
The City also has a page listing other forms of Economic Assistance.
In other news, Jefferson County Public Health has rescinded their County-wide state-at-home order in favor of the Governor’s State-Wide Stay-at-Home order.
