The information I provided below about the number of parking spaces was incorrect. Tonight’s project for 44 apartments plans to provide 61 parking spaces–not 44. Thank you to Rick Muriby at the Planning Department for the corrected information.
Here’s a little more information about the proposed developments at 24th and Ford Streets (across from Natural Grocers). As mentioned yesterday, the development on the northwest corner will provide 44 “mixed income” apartments. The development on the southwest corner will include 19 residential units with commercial property on the first floor.
One widely-quoted statistic says that the average American household has 2.8 cars, however, that includes larger households. According to one study, households in Denver average 1.9 cars.

The Friends of the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum’s lecture series kicks off tomorrow night (Sept 8th). Ed Raines, Curator and Collections Manager of the CSM Geology Museum, will discuss A Rock of Consequence at Aspen, Colorado. The lecture will take place on the CSM campus in the Ben H. Parker Student Center, Ballroom E, Maple Street (map). Socializing begins at 6:30 PM and the talk will start at 7:00. Admission is free and all are welcome.
