Tomorrow is going to be a super-busy day in Golden, so I’ll get a head start on describing the events. Both Farmers Markets (10th & Illinois and 15th and Jackson) will be running in the morning. The Be a Tool! group will be swarming all over town, helping people with home repairs.

Golden Fire Department Safety Day

The Golden Fire Department will be hosting Safety and Preparedness Day from 10AM-2PM at Fire Station #1, 911 10th St. This is a fun, family-friendly event that includes personal fire truck tours, live fire demonstrations, game-based fire and burn education for all ages, and free car seat checks. There will be many opportunities to learn about safety in the home and the community. There will also be drawings for door prizes and bottomless popcorn along with an assortment of refreshments.

Map showing wards and districts in Golden ColoradoCouncilor Casey Brown will hold a Coffee with a Councilor from 10-11 at White Ash Mine Park (map). He has invited the two candidates for City Council Ward 4 (Mikey Sheridan and Laura Weinberg), so this is a good opportunity to meet them in an informal environment and ask where they stand on the issues.

The Golden City Brewery will host their 17th annual GOLDENFEST, which is a fund-raiser that benefits the Golden Fire Department.  Stop by for a beer, and help them reach their goal of $5,000 to give to the Fire Department this year.

The stores downtown will be holding a massive SIDEWALK SALE, so definitely plan to stroll through downtown tomorrow!
