Another little spurt of winter is followed by another nice day!
The Jefferson Symphony performs this afternoon at 3, at the Green Center on the School of Mines Campus. The winner of the 2014 Jefferson Symphony International Young Artists Competition, Denver’s own Danny Lai, will perform the Concerto for Viola and Orchestra by Béla Bartók. Danny performs this hauntingly beautiful concerto with precision and passion. Also on the program is the ever popular masterpiece Symphony No. 7 by Beethoven. Colorado Haunted History will be giving one of their Murder, Mayhem, and Madness tours tonight at 7, starting at the Visitors Center (10th and Washington). During this haunted history tour you will hear tales of the wild, wild west that Golden once was. Tales include lynchings, shootouts, murder, and mayhem. See the park named after an innocent man hanged by a mob and the location where Golden’s ‘Night of Terror’ took place. Hear what nefarious activities used to take place on top of Golden’s Castle Rock, what paranormal activity may have forced a building to be shortened by one floor, and much more. Due to the Wild West nature of the stories of the “Murder, Mayhem and Madness Tour”, some salty language may be used and some stories may be disturbing. Parental guidance is strongly encouraged for children under 13. Tour costs $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Children under 5 are free. Call 888-649-3849 to reserve a spot.
This is the final day of Buy Golden Week. Why not try a Golden store or restaurant that you’ve never visited before? A portion of the sales tax from Buy Golden Week will go to support Golden’s schools.
