Would learning skills and techniques in Crime Prevention make you feel safer in your home and community? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, join the Golden Police Department for the first ever Golden Safety Academy.
The mission of the Golden Safety Academy is to help educate and empower citizens with information and resources that enhance their personal safety and crime prevention. This free academy will be composed of 12 classes. The classes will be held once a month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the second Monday of every month. Learn more….
The Golden Library is holding a class about online security tomorrow (Tuesday the 15th) from 1-2:30. How safe is your online activity? This class will help you keep your personal information secure, be safe when shopping online, and avoid common security pitfalls when using the Internet. Prerequisites: Mastery of basic computer skills (mouse, keyboard, basic Windows commands and functions); some Internet experience is helpful. Computer classes are free, but require pre-registration. Need Toy Donations by December 18th
The Christian Action Guild is getting ready for their annual Santa Shop for Golden’s at-risk families. They are asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys for its annual Santa Shop. Invitations will be sent to Golden’s (client) at-risk families who will shop (free of charge) at the Guild location for their children’s Holiday gifts. Although any new toy will be accepted gratefully, items most needed, geared toward 7 – 17 year olds, are: LEGOS, family board games, puzzles, “tween” makeup, jewelry, and gift cards (Claire’s, Target, Walmart, movie theaters, etc.). (Please, no stuffed animals.)
