Scat
The Lookout Mountain Nature Center will have a drop-by education station today. Stop by anytime between noon and 3PM to learn about the different types of animal scat. Test your scat knowledge by guessing which animal scat belongs to who! Suitable for all ages. Registration is not required for this program.
Chintz
The Quilt Museum is hosting “Sunday at the Museum” today from 2-4. The topic What is that Flower? Identify Flowers on Early Chintzes with Terry Terrell. Terry’s interest in botany and quilting has led her to developing a database to help quilters identify plants in early chintz fabrics. She will explain the evolution of the plants and how hybridization has changed plants over time. RMQM members admitted free. Non-members are $10/person. Admission includes museum admission and refreshments. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. Program begins at 2:00 p.m.
Fiber
The Library will host the Golden Fleece Fiber Fellowship from 2:30-4:30. Do you sew? Knit? Crochet? Embroider? Spin? Weave? Want to? Come to Golden Library’s DIY Lab to show us your work in progress. Or bring a project idea and your curiosity and we’ll get you started. Suitable for: Adults
Elves
On Saturday, November 25th, the 4th annual Be A Tool 5k Run will be held to help support the growth of the Neighborhood Rehab Project. In September of this year over 1,000 volunteers came together in Golden, Arvada & Englewood to help work on projects for folks in need of warm, safe and dry conditions. Proceeds from this race will go directly toward future projects in 2017 & 2018.
The 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. under the Howdy Folks arch. Save your bibs because participants will receive a free pancake breakfast and a chance to win one of many give-away prizes. Mens & women’s 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall winner will receive a medal.
Register early, the first 200 registrants will receive an Elf hat. Put on your most festive holiday attire and come join us for a fun morning of activities supporting Small Business Saturday as well as a great cause!
