Revised plan for affordable housing at 24th and Ford St.

6:30PM The Planning Commission meets tonight in City Council Chambers. The Jefferson County Housing Authority has modified the plans for their proposed affordable housing project on 24th Street between Ford and Jackson. Their earlier plan was to build 51 units. That plan did not allow them to provide the required number of parking spots on their own property, so they had hoped to use 13 spaces in the High School’s parking lot across the street. The High School did not agree to that proposal, so the Housing Authority has scaled back their plans from 51 units to 44 units. By doing so, they will be able to provide the required number of spaces on their own property. The public and the Planning Commission are invited to submit comments on these revised plans. Afterwards, the commission will discuss priorities for walkability, bikeability, and transit improvements over the next ten years. See the meeting packet to learn more about tonight’s agenda….
