The Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum has a special exhibit right now, highlighting critical materials and rare earth elements. This is a joint project between the museum and CSM’s Critical Materials Institute. The exhibit focuses on lithium, yttrium, tellurium, neodymium, europium, terbium, and dysprosium, the places they can be found and the ways in which they can be used.
If that strikes you as a little too pragmatic, just go to look at Miss Colorado’s crown for the Miss America pageant–it’s dazzling!
The Geology museum is free and it’s open every day of the week. 1310 Maple St. (map)
