Proposed Downtown Projects and Artsweek Events

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will meet at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They are considering a change on Washington Avenue that would reduce southbound Washington Avenue from two lanes to one between 15th and 19th Streets, .  If they do this, the cost will be $200,000 for concrete work, plus more for landscaping.

They will discuss funding several possible additional downtown projects:

renovate the downtown bathrooms
revise the downtown streetscape (the flower boxes)
Astor House Pocket Park
Astor House Renovation
Add a splashpad downtown
Build a trail along the Creek, behind the Golden Mill and the Gold apartments

Learn more about any of these projects by reviewing the meeting packet.
