GOLDEN HISTORY MOMENT

“This hay is for the Denver area’s most prevalent type of stock, the riding horse.” Front to back: Dave Alter, Dean Irby, and Ed Ramstetter – Golden Transcript – September 16, 1977

This photo shows the Golden Mill when it served as a feed store. The Transcript notes that Colorado hay was limited and expensive that year due to dry weather, so this load came from Nebraska.

Ed Ramstetter owned the Golden Mill until his death in 2003. The Purina sign in the background is probably about where the tap wall is today.

Thanks to the Golden History Museum for providing the online cache of historic Transcripts, and to the Golden Transcript for documenting our history since 1866!
