Noon Year’s Eve Party
Golden History Moment
Yesterday’s then and now photo was popular, so here’s another. What differences do you spot? The Old Capitol Grill building (1120 Washington Avenue) used to have arched windows. The Red Wagon building (1118) had a balcony. The Baby Doe’s building wasn’t there. The Silver Horse building (1114) had a third story. The arch wasn’t there. The Windy Saddle (1110) building wasn’t there. The street wasn’t paved. What other differences do you see?
As for the date of the photo, the Silver Horse (1112) was constructed in 1880 and the Windy Saddle (1110) was built in 1892, so the photo was taken sometime in that range.
