The Golden Police Deparment has just released their first newsletter, and there’s a lot of good information in it, including the police blotter, which allows you to read about specific calls to the police. They’re also going to be offering a Golden Safety Academy, starting tomorrow night and meeting once a month through December. This year’s Citizen’s Police Academy will start on August 23rd. Applications are due by August 8th. I haven’t participated in the Academy, but my husband was in one of the early classes. He particularly enjoyed the ride-alongs with officers, the shooting range, and driving a cop car at high speed around the track on South Table Mountain.
The new Superintendent of Jefferson County Schools, Dr. Jason Glass, has taken the reins, and he’s doing meet-and-greets all over the county this week. He’ll be in Golden twice: tomorrow (Monday 7/10) at 1:30 at the Golden Community Center, and Thursday (7/13) at 6:30 at the City Council meeting.
The MOMS Club of Golden will meet tomorrow morning from 9:30-10:30 at Faith Lutheran Church, 17701 W. 16th Avenue (map).
Sodexo will hold a job fair tomorrow from 10-2 at the American Job Center (3500 Illinois St. – map). They’re looking for Dining Services workers at several metro area locations, including the Colorado School of Mines. Learn more….
