The Historic Preservation Board meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will consider an application for a “Certificate of Appropriateness” from the Golden Mill. The former feed store at Ford and Water Streets is slated to become a Food Hall. The new owners have requested historic designation for the building, and plan to add a roof deck to the warehouse portion of the building. See the meeting packet for details and bigger pictures of the project.
Tomorrow is Colorado Gives Day. There are many Golden-based organizations that are hoping for your donations! The Community First Foundation has a $1 million fund that they distribute to organization participating in Colorado Gives Day in proportion to the other donations they get. In other words, the more we donate to our favorite organizations, the bigger share they will get of the $1 million fund. The official start time for Colorado Gives Day is at midnight tonight, but they’ve set up their website so that you can schedule your contribution ahead of time.
Here are some organizations that benefit Golden, specifically. If I missed any Golden organizations, send me a note…I can still post it tomorrow! You can also search for organizations through the Colorado Gives home page.
