Olde Golden Christmas Soon, and Music, Theater, and Art Today

Don’t you just love the way Golden celebrates Christmas?  I’m a huge fan–in fact, I published a book a few years ago called Olde Golden Christmas.

The Golden Chamber has been running this show for decades, and it’s gotten bigger every year.  This year’s party will begin on Friday night, November 30th with the Candlelight Walk.  Saturday mornings, December 1st, 8th, and 15th, we’ll have Christmas parades.  Both Saturday and Sunday afternoons we’ll have free horse-drawn carriage rides.  We’ll have music on the streets and in the stores and just a lot of fun all month long.

Now here’s the thing:  the Chamber doesn’t make a dime on all this and the costs really add up.  This year they’re running a bit short.  Would you like to contribute a few bucks to the cost of putting on this year’s holiday extravaganza?  Please consider sending a check to the Golden Chamber of Commerce, 1010 Washington Avenue, Golden, CO 80401.  Or drop it off at the Visitors Center!

Mines Little Theatre will perform “She Kills Monsters” tonight at 7PM at the Mountaineering Center (10th and Washington). “She Kills Monsters” is an action-adventure dramedy about loss, discovery, and a Dungeons and Dragons campaign.

The Holiday Art Market at Foothills Art Center opens to the public today. They will be open 7 days a week through December 30th (though I’m assuming they’ll be closed on December 25th). The hours are Mondays – Saturdays, 10AM-5PM and Sunday, 12-5PM.
