The Quilt Museum is holding the opening reception for their new exhibit, “How New is Modern?” from 6-8PM tonight. The Denver Metro Modern Quilt Guild hosted a call for entries in early 2017 for their featured modern art exhibit, “How New is Modern?” Their goal was to tell a story about how modern quilting has emerged out of quilting’s long history. By engaging with traditional quilts in a modern way and linking them to modern aesthetics, it creates a point of connection and dialog between traditional and modern quilts. Tonight’s reception is free!
