This is the final day of the Off-Grid Expo at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. They have many interesting exhibitors and several special speakers today. Don’t miss it!
As a non-morning person myself, I’m always amazed to see how early people start opening this email. There are usually about 50 “opens” by 4AM. The peak hour for reading “What’s Happening in Golden?” is the 7-8AM hour–even on weekends.
So for all you early birds out there, here are a couple of events scheduled for 9AM this morning. The Lookout Mountain Nature Center will host Coffee with a Ranger at 9. If you want to talk to someone about Jefferson County Open Space, here’s your chance. This is a monthly event. They’ll provide coffee, but they encourage you to bring your own cup.
The other 9AM event is Casey Brown‘s ongoing series of “Campaign in the Park” stops. He’ll be at Parfet Park this morning, ready and willing to chat with you about City plans and policies. Casey is running unopposed to serve a second term as the District 2 representative.
Speaking of campaigns, the ballots will be going out this Friday. Here are the candidates for Golden City Council, with links to their websites:
Mayor:
Don Cameron
Laura Weinberg
District 1:
Kimberly Brock
JJ Trout
District 2:
Casey Brown
