The Golden Concert Choir will present its spring concert, Ode to Life in the Great Hall of the historic and beautiful Calvary Episcopal Church of Golden (please use the 14th Street entrance). The program features the giants of classical music: Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Berlioz, and a less well-known woman composer of the early 20th century, Lili Boulanger. The program begins with Berlioz’s very dramatic rejection of the horrors of death and progresses through a series of pieces which resolve into a recognition of the joy of life represented by the choral music of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.
The doors will open at 3:00 p.m. to allow time for a fundraising silent auction and sale which will precede and follow the concert. The concert starts at 4.
Tickets will be available at the door: $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for students, no charge for children under 6. Come enjoy the music with us, and shop for Mother's Day gifts and local summer activities to benefit the choir.
