Jefferson County, CO. – As the Fourth of July rapidly approaches, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your cooperation in accurately reporting the use of illegal fireworks. Each year, JCSO’s patrol units are out in force, along with some units dedicated strictly to fireworks complaints. However, deputies and dispatchers are quickly inundated with fireworks complaints, and the vast majority of these calls report the use of fireworks without a specific address. These types of calls severely impact and overwhelm the call system, causing a delayed response to other critical calls for service.
