Colorado has entered Phase 1B.4 of the vaccine distribution which opens eligibility up to those 50 years of age and older, as well as many frontline workers in education, food services, agriculture and those 16 – 49 with one high-risk factor. A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®) will be evaluating the Golden PD from Monday, March 22 to Wednesday, March 24. During their virtual assessment, the CALEA assessors will examine all aspects of the Golden Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services to determine if they continue to meet CALEA’s standards for law enforcement agencies as part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence. As part of the upcoming assessment, department personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a virtual public information session tonight at 6PM. Learn more….
