The 51-unit apartment complex at 24th and Jackson was approved at last night’s Planning Commission meeting. The developers will be permitted to build over the alleyway; the optional third story was approved, and thirteen of the residents will use the High School parking lot.

"Howdy Folks!" from Golden's public art collection.

The Public Art Commission will meet in City Council Chambers at 9AM today. They have a couple of pieces nearing completion–the Elk on Heritage Road and “Run and Fly” at the north end of town, next to Highway 93. They will start planning the “unveiling” celebrations for both. They will begin discussing their next project. Staff will update them on plans for this year’s Artsweek Golden (July 8-14), the plans to light the Checkmate statue on the 19th/6th Ave overpass, and the 2019 budget.
