Golden History Moment
I love looking at old photos of Golden, and Bill Robie recently shared a great one. He took this in March of 1965. I spotted many interesting changes between then and now, and I’m sure you’ll spot more. Here are a few:
1 Hesteds Department Store was still in business, as was
2 The Golden Gem Theater.
3 Duvall-Davison Lumber was at 13th & Ford (now replaced by Coors visitor parking lot)
4 Stevinson’s first Chevrolet dealership–now a fenced-in part of Coors.
5 This gas station is now gone, and the property is part of Coors.
6 Two houses occupy what is now a city parking lot.
Thanks to Bill Robie for showing us a glimpse of Golden, 57 years ago!
