There’s a free concert today at noon in the Arthur Lakes Library (1400 Illinois St): Rebecca Flinthof – Songs of Love, Loss and Hope. Concerts in the Library are sponsored and organized by Arthur Lakes Library. All performances start at noon and take place in the Boettcher Room. Performances are free and open to the public. Foothills Art Center’s new shows are now open to the public. They’re also offering a class tomorrow from 9AM-4PM: Hot Art, Basic Encaustic Techniques. This a high energy, hands-on encaustic workshop. We will explore a variety of encaustic techniques, including making medium and paint, prepping substrates, fusing wax, layering translucent color, adding and reducing texture, masking, stencils, mark making, image transfer techniques and more.
