The Quilt Musuem will celebrate Sunday at the Museum today from 2-4PM. Dana Jones will tell us about Indigo, Taupe & More: Japanese Fabric from Vintage to Contemporary. In a whirlwind round of interviews with multiple generations of Japanese quiltmakers, Dana learned a lot about working with native fabrics from indigo to taupe and beyond. She talked with master quilters Kuroha Shizuko, Yoko Seito, Reiko Kato and Keiko Goke. She’ll share stories from each woman with an emphasis on how they select and design fabric. You’ll see images of quilts by each quiltmaker, get to handle Japanese fabrics and think about how U.S. quiltmakers can use Japanese fabrics in our quilts. RMQM members admitted free. Nonmembers are $10/person. Admission includes museum admission and refreshments.
