Jeffco Open Space is holding a Trails Talk Forum, tonight from 6-7:30 at the main Open Space Office (700 Jefferson County Parkway – map). They will begin with an open house, with attendees free to visit table stations and speak to staff with trail and project expertise. At 6:15 p.m., Tom Hoby, Director of Open Space & Parks, as well as other staff will present and answer questions. After the presentations, the table stations will reopen for discussion with staff. The Sustainability Board will meet tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will discuss the City’s transit plans and upcoming improvements to the Parfet Park “mobility hub” (formerly known as “the bus stop”). They will also discuss the planned changes to North Washington Avenue. Learn more….
Tomorrow
A series of free cooking classes for adults will start tomorrow at 1PM at Golden High School. The class is called “Food Power: Culinary Skills for You.” These are creative, hands-on classes using basic knife skills and cooking techniques with herbs, spices and oils. Tomorrow night from 6:30-7:30, the Lookout Mountain Nature Center will present A Beginner’s History of Lookout Mountain. Come to the top of Lookout Mountain to get a sweeping historical overview of this Jefferson County landmark. Enjoy an illustrated talk about the history of this mountain and its importance to Jefferson County. Program details: Adults only. This entire program will be indoors. Also tomorrow night, Earth Treks Climbing Center will host the American Alpine Club Speaker Series. Local climbing book author, guide, and route developer Kevin Capps will present slides and his work on recent development of Clear Creek Canyon. Free beer!
