The final Movies and Music in the Park occurs tonight in Parfet Park. La Pompe Jazz will begin playing at 7, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi will begin at dusk. This should be a beautiful evening to sit in the park. The moon is two days short of full (it will be full at 5:56AM Sunday). It will rise at 7PM tonight, so it will be full to watch it rise over South Table Mountain.
In addition, the downtown merchants are celebrating Golden Weekends with free carriage rides (6-8PM) and lots of live music, sales, samples, and specials. VFW Post 4171 has been doing some major sprucing up of their building at 15625 W 10th Ave (map). They would like us to drop by tomorrow (Saturday the 25th) between 1 and 5PM to enjoy some free food and drinks and to check out their fresh “new” space. The Veterans of Foreign Wars was formed in 1899 and their goal is “Veterans Helping Veterans.”
The Jeffco Sheriff’s Department is hosting the 2nd annual Cops and Classics Car Show tomorrow from 10AM-2PM, at 200 Jefferson County Parkway (map).
