Christy Steadman at the Golden Transcript wrote a good article about the construction projects proposed or coming soon at the School of Mines, including two parking garages, a parking lot, and two new residential halls. They have been working on a Master Plan for many months now, and are close to finalizing it. We can expect quite a bit of additional construction in the coming years. See their Master Plan page for more information.

RTD’s G Line (rail service between Denver and Arvada) will open for business this Friday, April 26th, at 10AM. Service on that line will be free all day, after 10AM. I went to Golden’s opening ceremony when the W Line opened in 2013. The trains were packed, so unless you particularly want to attend the opening ceremony, you might want to wait till later in the day to try the route. I don’t usually mention events in foreign regions such as Arvada, but in celebration of the new line, all RTD rail trips on all routes (including our W Line) will be free on Saturday the 27th.
