Mopar Party Tonight, NREL Tour Tomorrow

Washington Avenue will be closed tonight for the annual Mopar Block Party.  This event kicks off the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Raceway.  The party will be followed by three days of high-speed racing at Bandimere Speedway in nearby Morrison for the 33rd Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals.  Tonight’s party is free and open to the public, so come downtown and check it out!

This afternoon from 12:30-2:30, the Golden Library (map) is holding one of their drop-in computer help sessions.  (This is the ideal time to finally figure out how to get library books on your Kindle, iPad, etc.!)  They’ll also help with email, internet searching, and MS Office problems.

Tomorrow morning from 9-10:30, the National Renewable Energy Lab is offering a walking tour of their campus (map).  NREL exemplifies environmental sustainability throughout its operations. Visitors learn about renewable energy and energy efficiency research as well as see for themselves how the campus is demonstrating clean energy technologies, reducing waste, and eliminating atmospheric pollution. The Sustainable NREL Walking Campus Tour is a vigorous, outdoor walking tour, so visitors are urged to wear comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. The tours start at the NREL Education Center and include the Research Support Facility, NREL Parking Garage, and Central Detention Pond. Participants must be 18 or older, a U.S. Citizen, and have photo ID. Space is limited and advance registration is required. 303-275-3023. Free.
