The moon will be full tonight (4/21) at 11:23PM, and the weather forecast says it will be clear, so we can enjoy it. Remember last September, when we had a “supermoon?” Tonight we’ll have the opposite–a “micromoon.”
The Golden History Center is hosting a lecture tonight at 6PM: How Golden Got Its Name. This illustrated talk will inform and amuse with the stories behind interesting place names in Colorado. Learn the history of place names in Colorado like Parachute, Bonanza, Saguache, and Miracle Rock. Learn about the interesting characters who created these strange-sounding places with historian and storyteller Ed Weising. Members $10; non-members $15.

Saturday afternoon (4/23) from 3-5, the Library will host Cupcake Wars for grades 6-12. This is WAR. With frosting. Choose your weapons and battle for honor and glory. It’s time for Cupcake Wars at the Golden Library. Come fully prepared to impress the judges. You’ll have a limited amount of time along with a challenging list of ingredients to make your creation.
