The Golden History Center is hosting a lecture tonight at 6PM: How Golden Got Its Name. This illustrated talk will inform and amuse with the stories behind interesting place names in Colorado. Learn the history of place names in Colorado like Parachute, Bonanza, Saguache, and Miracle Rock. Learn about the interesting characters who created these strange-sounding places with historian and storyteller Ed Weising. Members $10; non-members $15.

It’s time for Cupcake Wars at the Golden Library. Come fully prepared to impress the judges. You’ll have a limited amount of time along with a challenging list of ingredients to make your creation.
