The City’s “Complete Street” Open House Regarding Washington Avenue is scheduled tonight from 6-8 at the Community Center (map). They plan to do extensive work on Washington Avenue from 10th Street to Highway 93, with the goals of providing bike lanes, improved pedestrian right of way, improved aesthetics, reduced speeds, improved residential parking, and improved access to businesses. This meeting is to show the plans and receive input.
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will meet at 7 tonight in City Council Chambers. They will consider grant requests from Blue Moose Trading Company, which wants assistance in purchasing a sign for their store at 1299 Washington Avenue, and from Aegis Professional Realty, which wants assistance in completing substantial facade improvements to their business in Goosetown (514 9th Street). They will discuss a possible partnership with the Visitors Center Board.
Tuesday
Dinosaur Ridge will continue their training series tomorrow morning at 10. This second talk covers what dinosaurs are and how they fit in the animal family tree. This also covers what are NOT dinosaurs. They will repeat the class Friday morning at 10. The classes are free.
