8AM – Avenue of Flags at the Golden Cemetery (map)The Honor Guard from our Golden VFW Post 4171 will raise the flags at the Golden Cemetery.
11AM – Memorial Day Ceremony at the Golden Cemetery (map)The Golden VFW Post 4171 and its Auxiliary will join American Legion Post 21 and the Foothills Young Marines in honoring our fallen warriors on Memorial Day at Golden Cemetery. Marjorie Sloan, Mayor of the City of Golden will be the keynote speaker.
2PM – Memorial Day Ceremony at the Marine Corps Memorial (map)The program will include color guard, bag pipes, flyover, guest speaker, taps, rifle salute when appropriate, and recognitions.
Guest Speaker: Sergeant Major Paul McKenna, Command Senior Enlisted Leader, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United Sates Northern Command. See the full program….
Bring your own chairs if you are unable to stand for more than 30 minutes without assistance. Parking for this event is generously offered by the Home Depot in the shopping area south of the Memorial.
