6PM – There’s a community meeting tonight at the VFW, to discuss a mixed use development on what is currently a large empty lot in Pleasant View (map).
6PM – The Sustainability Board meets tonight in City Council Chambers. They will discuss a planned September 17th recycling event to be held at the Buffalo Rose, which sounds promising: a community-wide discussion about the state of recycling in Golden, in the U.S., and globally, at the Buffalo Rose on Tuesday, September 17th from 7:00-9:00 pm. This event will feature several speakers on where our recycling goes, how to participate in the compost program and giveaways for kids and adults alike. City staff will report on the water rates task force, the City’s involvement with the Be A Tool program, an RFP that they’ve issued for an energy consultant, and various and sundry other aspects of Sustainability business.
