The City’s Marketing Manager recently resigned, so the meeting will be conducted by her boss, Robin Fleischmann. The chair of this committee (a Coors employee) also resigned, so the group will need to elect a new chair and vice-chair.
The group was originally scheduled to approve their budget last month, but the committee had many questions, so they’ll review it again this month. The overall budget is $607K (see p. 6). The biggest-ticket items are ~$290K for paid media, $69K for the VisitGolden website vendor, $70K for the PR consultant, $60K for the marketing consultant, and $58K for promotions.
The City Marketing budget is paid by the vendors as part of their sales tax returns. The City employees who work on the program are not covered by that vendor fee.
The marketing consultant will present the 2024 Marketing plan (starts on p. 17).
Staff will report on recent and upcoming marketing campaigns and will report on a recent merchant survey, which asked whether the Golden Ticket program is still working well for them. They will also describe some planned promotions of the Gateway Village part of town (near Origin Red Rocks Hotel).
The visitgolden.com website needs to be made accessible, so staff will report on the work required for that.
