FYI, City Council voted last night to ban recreational marijuana stores, cultivation, and testing facilities here in Golden.
Our first Street Fair of the season is tonight, from 5-9, on Washington Avenue. We’ll have $4 Coors beer on tap and $4 “tastes” from local restaurants, aerial acrobats, belly dancers, discounts and specials by the merchants and restaurants. We’ll also have free horse-drawn carriage rides. We have some top-notch musical talent lined up this summer. Tonight, Dakota Blonde is appearing. This group has performed many times in Golden, in sold-out venues. Here’s a great chance to hear them for free!
If, by chance, it’s raining at 5 o’clock, don’t be discouraged by that. It rained last night (Thursday night) at 5 o’clock and cleared off entirely by 6 PM.
The Golden Library, 1019 10th Street (map), is going to be undergoing a substantial remodeling this year, and they’re seeking public involvement. They had an open house a couple weeks ago, and tonight, from 5:30-6:30, they will host an open house to show the conceptual designs, potential color schemes and possible furniture options.
