Dinosaur Ridge is celebrating National Outdoors Day today, from 10-2. Free hands-on activities, such as gold panning, fossil sifting, metal detecting and dinosaur track painting will be available at the Visitor Center. Try geode cracking and sluicing for a nominal charge. Visit the Geocaching Colorado booth to learn about geocaching; borrow a GPS and search for geocaches and earthcaches hidden on Dinosaur Ridge.
On the trail, guides will explain the geology and fossils along Dinosaur Ridge. Biking or hiking the trail is free, or take the shuttle for $4/per person–3 & under ride free. Dinosaur Ridge is located just west of the C-470 exit at Alameda Parkway.

Dinosaur Ridge is a National Natural Monument with rock formations that include dinosaur footprints, bones and other evidence of early life and geology of the area. Located between Golden and Morrison (map), Dinosaur Ridge has dinosaur bones and footprints, plant fossils, a gift shop, hiking trails and other points of geologic interest.
