Lots of Activity at Foothills Art Center

Today is your last chance to see the Hal Shelton exhibition at Foothills Art Center.  Hal Shelton (1926-2004) had a long and prolific career both as an artist and as a world renowned cartographer.  Known for his elegant depictions of the natural landscape and paintings of the west, FAC is delighted to present a selection of Shelton’s work, many of which have never been exhibited outside of the Shelton family collection.

You only have one more week to see the Colorado Watercolor Society Exhibition.  This exhibition includes 90 innovative, remarkable paintings created in watermedia of diverse and fascinating approaches.  It closes on March 24th.

After that, we’ll have a two week hiatus while Foothills readies its most ambitious exhibit ever:  Chihuly Ventians: From the George R. Stroemple Collection.  Dale Chihuly is probably the most famous glass artist now living, and his pieces appear in museums and galleries all over the world.  You’ll be hearing a lot more about this as the opening approaches.  Foothills has worked with many of the downtown businesses on tie-ins such as special art glass shows, a custom martini, etc., so this will be an immersive experience!  We’re expecting huge numbers of visitors to see this show, so be sure that you don’t miss it!  April 7th – June 30th.
