There are several good reasons to head to downtown late this afternoon. City & Mountain Views magazine recently changed ownership, and the Chamber is helping them celebrate with a reception and ribbon-cutting from 4-6 at the Visitors Center (10th & Washington). Meet the new owner, Julie Paschen, and her staff. City & Mountain Views has been covering Jefferson County for many years and often includes interesting articles about Golden. There will be appetizers, live music, and socializing!
From there, you can cross the street to the Mountaineering Center for the Golden Women in Business Fall Expo (4-8). This is a good opportunity to meet some of Golden’s small business owners and learn more about their products and services. Bob’s Atomic Burgers and AC Golden will be providing refreshment and Art on the Brix will lead an art activity. Bring the kids, because “Music in the Park” will be there, giving kids the opportunity to try various musical instruments.
If you’re still at the Mountaineering Center at 7, you can attend a presentation on Backcountry Snowshoeing, hosted by the Colorado Mountain Club.
City Council meets at 6:30 at City Hall, and will continue discussing next year’s budget. If that’s too exciting for you, the Clear Creek Jazz Quintet will be in the bar at the Golden Hotel from 6-9.
