Enjoy live music and carriage rides in downtown Golden tonight. The musicians will perform from 5-8PM. Britta K, sponsored by Spirits in the Wind Gallery, will play Disney Hits. Trevor Tom (sponsored by Mountain Lux Candles) will play Americana rock, guitar, and vocal. The carriages will run from 6-8PM, sponsored by Avenue Gifts. Board the carriages on 12th Street, just west of Washington Avenue.
The Railroad Museum is celebrating their 60th Anniversary this weekend! This morning at 10AM they’re going to have an anniversary celebration immediately followed by a Parade of Locomotives. They’re going to fire up every operating steam locomotive in the museum’s collection and have them parade along the track that loops around the museum campus. (I’m looking forward to seeing that!) For the rest of the day (from about noon-4PM, they’ll have steam train rides departing every half hour. They will also have Turntable Demonstrations, Open Railcars, and food trucks. The special event pricing is $20 for adults, $10 for children (2-15) and $15 for seniors (60+). Museum members are FREE (so maybe it’s time to join)!
Both tonight and tomorrow night, the Traveling Mystery Show is offering a “rootin’ tootin’ live theater production of ROBBERY AT THE RAILROAD.” Ride on an old west steam locomotive and experience a train robbery, gunflights, outlaws, clues, and mystery.
