The Planning Commission will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will conduct two public hearings. The first responds to the Parks Department’s request to install lighting at the skateboard park being constructed in Ulysses Park. The proposed lighting is designed to minimize light pollution and will go off at 10PM.
The second hearing concerns the South Golden Road neighborhood plan. The City held three public meetings during 2015 to gather public opinion about the area. Residents expressed considerable concern about pedestrian safety in the area, particularly in roundabout crossings. They also asked that any future development along South Golden Road be restricted to two stories, so as to preserve views. If Planning Commission approves the current plan, they will pass it along to City Council for final approval.
The detailed meeting packet is available on the City website, and the meeting will be broadcast live through that same page.
