Dave Powers got some wonderful photos of Buffalo Bill Days, from the pancake breakfast to the parade, to the Wild West Show, music in Parfet Park, the Classic Car Show on Sunday, and the ever-popular Muttin Bustin’. Check it out on our facebook page.
Let’s all thank the Golden Parks Department because they’re charged with getting Parfet Park cleaned up today, in the wake of Buffalo Bill Days and in anticipation of tomorrow night’s Golden Night Out in the Park!
Na
tional Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships. It’s a great opportunity to met your local police personnel, learn about what they do, see their equipment, and get some good safety information. All of this while having fun with live music, performances, raffle prizes, and free popcorn and root beer floats! So lock your doors, turn on your porch lights and come out to enjoy free food, entertainment, interactive displays and the always popular landing of the Flight for Life helicopter!
The party runs from 5-8PM on Tuesday, August 1st, in Parfet Park. The year, the police will be giving out trigger locks, in order to promote gun safety in Golden homes–particularly those with children. They will also hold two drawings each hour for handgun safes. These gun safety giveaways are inspired by the ordinance that City Council will vote on this Thursday, requiring that guns must be locked in homes where children are present.
