HAIR!
Miners Alley Playhouse is opening Hair this Friday!
The American tribal love rock musical Hair celebrates the sixties counterculture in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded, and fringed glory. To an infectiously energetic rock beat, the show wows audiences with songs like “Aquarius,” “Good Morning, Starshine,” “Hair,” “I Got Life,” and “Let The Sun Shine.” Exploring ideas of identity, community, global responsibility, and peace, Hair remains relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world.
Here are some special deals of note:
Friday, August 5th is Opening Night, which means that the performance will be followed by a free buffet for cast, crew, and audience.

Thursday performances through run of show are available at 50% off, but this offer expires at midnight, August 5th. Buy your tickets before then, and use the promo code “Haircut“.

Golden History Moment
The August 3, 1916 Colorado Transcript announced that Coors was constructing an additional factory to make malted milk. Colorado instituted Prohibition four years before the rest of the country (in 1916), which meant they could no longer produce beer. Instead, they switched to making malted milk, which they sold to candy-makers. Prohibition ended in 1933. Coors produced both beer and malted milk until 1957, at which time they discontinued the malt business.
Thanks to the Golden History Museum for providing the online cache of historic Transcripts, and to the Golden Transcript for documenting our history since 1866!
