De-Stuffing Part II
I have one update and one addition to the column I posted Sunday regarding De-Stuffing. First, the Christian Action Guild (map) has changed their hours. The new hours are as follows:
Food Pantry
Tuesday 10:30am-5:45pm
NEW DAY Wednesday 9:00am-2:30pm
Friday 10:30am-2:30pm
Closed Saturday
Thrift Shop
Tuesday 10:00am-5:45pm
NEW Day Wednesday 10:00am-3:30pm
Friday 10:00am-3:30pm
Closed Saturday
Second, Jim Smith reminded me that Golden Real Estate collects and recycles Styrofoam: You could tell readers that if they have block white Styrofoam from their holiday presents (such as electronics), they are welcome to break those pieces into smaller pieces (1 foot or so), bag them, and bring them 24/7 to the Styrofoam Corral behind Golden Real Estate, 17695 S. Golden Road (map). We have bags there for their use. Note: Food containers, egg containers, to-go food containers and cups made of Styrofoam are NOT recyclable – just the block white Styrofoam that you can crumble in your hands. We keep over 200 cubic yards of Styrofoam out of landfills every year, taking at least 2 truck loads per month to a reprocessing center in Aurora.
