New Year’s Eve Events

10AM New Years Eve Yoga with Pranatonic
Get 2021 off to a strong start by setting your New Year’s intention with our 1.5 hour yoga and meditation class. We will also invoke the tools of chant and yoga nidra to prime our minds, bodies, and souls for 2021 New Year’ s resolution success. Pre-Register at least 30 minutes before class starts.

11:30AM The library will host an online, family-friendly NOON Year’s Eve celebration. Reserve your place in the online meeting now.

The Buffalo Rose will host a New Year’s Eve dinner in their open air dining area. They are offering two seating periods:

1-4PM – Tickets

2020 in Review – Part 1

The first quarter of the year usually seems slow to me. Compared to Golden’s frenetic summer months and December’s non-stop pace, January through March seem abysmally lacking in things to write about. After this year’s experiences, I look back on January and February of 2020 with greater appreciation for all the things we had going on.

The City decides to demolish the newly-purchased Coors office building, so they offer the Community Center and a fire station as collateral instead
Restaurants ask the city to allow them to extend outdoor seating by using more of the sidewalk and parking areas
Library begins offering curbside pickup
GURA decides not to fund affordable housing on 8th street, but instead look for places to fund in less expensive neighborhoods
The Lions Club cancels their annual 4th of July celebration.
Buffalo Bill Days is also canceled.
Museums re-open
Foothills Art Center opens the National Watercolor show
Council decides to try education and rewards to encourage mask-wearing
George Floyd is killed and a protest rally is planned for Parfet Park
