JSO Celebrates Black History Month

This afternoon at 3, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Black History Month with a program that includes Duke Ellington, Grace Mary Williams, and William Grant Still.  Ron Miles, Trumpet, is their guest artist.  The concert will take place at the Green Center (924 16th St – map) on the School of Mines Campus.

Cannonball Creek is having a fund-raiser (“Puppies and Pints“) from noon-10PM today.  A portion of today’s proceeds will go to support Every Creature Counts, a no kill shelter, rescue, adoption agency.

The Golden Fleece Fiber group will gather at the library from 2:30-4:30.  If you like to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, spin, or weave–join them!  If you don’t, but wish you knew how–join them!  They can probably get you started.
