John Fielder at the Mountaineering Center Tonight

Head to the Mountaineering Center tonight at 6, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act. The Colorado Mountain Club alongside Rocky Mountain Wild, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Sierra Club, and the American Mountaineering Center will be hosting an evening with renowned photographer John Fielder.

The evening will consist of a happy hour from 6-7, including light appetizers and beer, followed by a spectacular slideshow of John’s photography accompanied by music. Afterwards, John will be available to sign any merchandise that you may have purchased. You may also be interested to know that 30% of all proceeds from the sale of John’s materials from this event will be donated to the sponsoring organizations.

This FREE event is part of a month long (May 6th – June 6th) exhibit of John’s work that will be displayed in the American Mountaineering Center’s Bradford Washburn Museum.

The Planning Commission has a study session tonight at 6:30.  The School of Mines wants to close several streets that run through the campus, and the commission will consider the ramifications of doing so.  They will also discuss zoning issues along West Colfax, and whether backyard chickens should be allowed for multifamily developments.
