Jesse Crock, DeLong Park, and the Future of the Clear Creek Corridor

4-7PM Golden’s Artist Laureate (I made up the title) Jesse Crock will be painting today at Mountain Toad Brewery. Art Rocks the Toad features live music by Weatherbee and the Gnarbillys and live art by Jesse. We will keep pickin’ and playin’ as long as you dig it. Jesse Crock will be providing pieces of art live in front of your face. We will be doing drawings throughout the show, and at the end you may be the lucky one to walk away with a Jesse Crock original.

9AM-5PM The Library is doing one of their Fuzzy Friends Sleepovers tonight. Drop off your favorite stuffed animal for a night out, and tomorrow you can see pictures of their sleepover shenanigans!

UllrGrass Continues today in Parfet Park, with live music from 11:45AM-10:30PM (and an after-party in the Mountaineering Center till 1:30AM). They’re also having a Beer Festival today from 1-4PM.

City Business:

At Tuesday night’s Parks Recreation and Museums Advisory Board meeting, the consultants showed the proposed site plan for DeLong Park on 23rd Street. You can view the plan on Guiding Golden. I’m pretty happy with it; they didn’t try to crowd too much into that small plot of land.

The City is gearing up for a big community discussion about the Clear Creek Corridor, including the 7 acres we recently purchased in Goosetown. They would like you to take a survey, describing what you would like to see along the creek. This coming Wednesday (January 29th), they will host a community open house to begin gathering people’s opinions.
