The Jefferson County Fair continues today at the Fairgrounds. The 4H Gymkhana (competitive horseback riding events) will run from 10-12 this morning. Animals raised by 4H participants will be available for viewing from noon-10PM, as will 4H projects in various categories.
CSU Extension is celebrating 100 years in Jefferson County! Visit them in the 4H Farm Zone to learn about the resources they provide. This is Kids Discovery Day at the fair, so they’ll have even more kids activities than usual. The spectacular Gladius horse show will be performed this evening.
Tonight is the second of four evenings of Movies & Music in the Park. Wilderness will take the stage at 7PM, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (from the Harry Potter world) will begin at dusk. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to Parfet Park. You can bring a picnic or buy food from the food trucks. No alcohol is allowed.
Mountain Toad Brewing is helping one of their food trucks, Rolling Dough, celebrate their 3rd anniversary today, and they will have live music all day.
There will be a bike race tomorrow morning that will result in road closures. The race will be in the vicinity of Golden from about 2:45 – 4Pm, with closures along Highway 93, 58th Avenue, Easley Road, 44th Avenue, McIntyre, 32rd Avenue, the off-ramps at Highway 58 and McIntyre, and 32nd Avenue.
