Homecoming
The School of Mines is celebrating Homecoming this weekend, with a 5K run at 8AM, starting a 19th and Elm. The HomeComing Parade will go down Illinois Street from 18th to Clear Creek, starting at 9:30. The Tailgate Party starts at 10 in the Q Lot. The Mines Football Team will play Colorado Mesa at noon, and the Volleyball Team will play Westminster College at 5PM. See the full schedule.
Farmers Market
The second-to-last Farmers Market of the year is this morning from8AM-1PM at 10th and Illinois. Stock up now while you can!
OkTOADerfest
Mountain Toad is celebrating OkTOADerfest all day (11AM to 11PM). Curiously enough, their theme is Hawaiian Luau. They’ll have Ohana Grille food, special beer tappings, and a discount for people in Hawaiian shirts.
Art
Foothills Art Center‘s two current exhibits, Spirit Glass by Damien Gilley and Magnetic north: oils on stainless steel by mai wyn schantz, will both close in three more weeks, so make sure you see them soon.
Artist Charlotte Bassin is opening a show in the new Golden Center Gallery from 3-5PM.
Spirits in the Wind Gallery will host artist Sonia Reid from 4-8PM. She will be demonstrating creation of wildlife art in oil.
