At 10AM Foothills Arts Center offers “Painting Notecards with Janet Nunn.” In this class participants learn to paint notecards with watercolor techniques. We cover splattering paint, washes, masking the white of the paper, all on notecards. This small format makes it easy to put a painting together. What a perfect time of year to create your own note cards. $5 materials fee. Non-members $105 / Members $90.
At 10AM, there will be a Suicide Prevention & Remembrance Walk. This is a community-wide walk that will start in Parfet Park in downtown Golden and end on the Colorado School of Mines campus on Kafadar Commons in front of the CoorsTek building. Learn more….
11AM: A Mental Health Wellness Fair will be held immediately following the community walk at the CoorsTek Center (1523 Illinois Street) and will conclude the week’s suicide prevention events. Booths will be hosted by campus and community organizations working to support suicide prevention and mental health. A variety of resources will be made available to the public for free.
From 12-3PM, the three new stores in the Foss Building will celebrate a joint grand opening and ribbon-cutting. Stop by and check them out!
Barrels & Bottles is celebrating the 243rd Birthday of the United States Marines today from 3-10PM. They will donate a portion of sales from today through Monday to the DAV. They will also accept gently used coats, warming layers, Gloves, scarfs, and hats.

See Mines Little Theatre’s performance of “She Kills Monsters,” by Qui Nguyen! “She Kills Monsters” is an action-adventure dramedy about loss, discovery, and a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. The performance will take place in the theater at the Mountaineering Center (10th & Washington). Tickets can be purchased at the door (cash or check only). Tickets are $7 for students and faculty and $10 for community members. Doors open at 6:30 and seats are first come first served.

The Golden History Museum will open the 1968 Golden Time Capsule tomorrow morning. Witness the exciting and long-anticipated opening of Golden’s 1968 time capsule, which has been buried in front of Golden City Hall. Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I with a day of celebration, programs, and free admission to the Golden History Museum. The Museum opens at 10 a.m. and ceremonies begin at 11 a.m
The Quilt Museum will host Sunday at the Museum from 2-4 tomorrow, with the intriguing name, “A Splash of Color: A Rainbow of Brilliant Black and White Quilts.”
