Head to the History Park today, anytime between 10AM and 2PM, to enjoy Homesteaders’ Day. Experience 19th century homesteading, explore the historic cabins, try woodstove cooking, learn about blacksmithing, and take a lesson at the one-room schoolhouse. This event is free and is drop-in style; there is no registration.
The Library is doing Celestial Henna for Teens and Adults from 11:30-1:30. Explore the art and history of henna with Henna Jes. Roll a cone, practice designs, then create a work of art on yourself or a friend! Ideal for Teens – Adults (16+).
Interesting event today at the Marv Kay stadium on the School of Mines campus: The Women’s National Football Conference. According to the press release, Around mid-day, WNFC All-Stars will compete in 7-on-7 matchups, skills challenge and pro level drills to display the best women’s tackle football players in the country…. The day will culminate in the championship game at 7PM.
The downtown merchants are sponsoring music from 5-8PM and free carriage rides from 6-8PM. I was downtown last night, and things were really hopping–I think everyone is happy to have warm summer weather at last!
