The Colorado Mountain Club is hosting a free talk, tonight at 6:30 at the Mountaineering Center (10th and Washington):

Join us for a free presentation on where and how to hike with children with Colorado Mountain Club Press author Tony Parker at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden. Learn where to hike with children along Colorado’s Front Range. Tony will provide an overview of the 46 hikes in his new book, The Best Front Range Hikes for Children, which are all within one hour of Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Rocky Mountain National Park, or Fort Collins. He will focus on his top three recommended hikes, and give an overview of the book’s handy trail rating guide.

“Hiking together is a fun way for families to break away from our busy electronic world and spend time together in nature,” Tony writes. “Hiking can unlock and inspire children’s curiosity for exploring nature.” Parker will take you on a photo tour of some of the best trails to hike with children on the Front Range. He will also discuss wildlife found on the trails and safety considerations. Autographed copies of The Best Front Range Hikes for Children will be available at the CMC member discounted price.

This event is open to the public.
